Left Brain development:
In school, I was “always good” in math, physics and pleasing others. That led me to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. “Career-wise,” I have been an Aeronautical Engineer, an Industrial Sales Engineer, an Adult Education Teacher (mathematics, of course), a Corporate Trainer, an Instructional Designer and a Technical Writer. I have accumulated nearly 25 years of Training, Instructional Design and Technical Writing experience with such companies as Delco Systems, Johnson Controls, McHugh Software International, Harnischfeger Engineers, GE Medical Systems, Northwestern Mutual and the United States Bowling Congress. These experiences have invaluably honed my speaking, writing, planning, communication, teaching and facilitation skills. Using these skills, I have presented corporate seminars and workshops on such topics as: Integrity in Communication, Embracing Change, Team Unity, Commitment, Fear of Conflict and Building Effective Work Relationships.
Right Brain Development:
It is said that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. I’ve found this to be true in my experience. (It is also said that we teach what we need to learn, and I have also found that to be true!) I began self-transformation in earnest in the mid 1970’s with a disciplined journey into the teachings of a traditional Yoga lineage. Even while apparently immersed in the mainstream of Corporate America life, I continued my explorations into meditation, esoteric healing, metaphysics and various types of “energy work.” Just as importantly, I did the self-work: I consciously worked on becoming more aware of my thoughts and feelings, opening my heart, and not taking myself too seriously. I have been blessed with many wonderful teachers, some of them students and some of them masters.
The Whole Picture:
My life is about Self-Realization. This involves letting go, through awareness and practice, of identification with the conditioned thought structures, beliefs and misperceptions of this human ego, to reveal unconditioned Consciousness: Presence, or Being – our true nature: 'Tat Twam Asi' - 'That Thou Art.' I believe that any human being on the planet today is capable of focusing in awareness and therefore has the capacity and inner resources for Self-Realization. If we want to change the world, we must start with our selves. I have started with my self, and I continue with my journey. I share the skills, processes and tools I have gathered from my own transformational lessons and experiences as gifts to assist others with their journeys.
